The Fiberglass Grating Manufacturers Council (FGMC) is a consortium of FRP composite manufacturers that actively promote the usage of fiberglass grating among architects, engineers, designers, specifiers and others. This specialty industry committee is focused on growing fiberglass grating products used in a wide range of markets from construction, industrial, and oil and gas. The committee is currently focused on educating end users by developing a new design standard for fiberglass grating. The Council is a part of the greater American Composites Manufacturers Association.
FRP grating, a composite material manufactured by combining a matrix of resin and fiberglass, is used in many different industries, from walkways in industrial plants to flooring on ships to decorative grids on commercial and residential buildings. FRP grating is more durable and corrosion resistant, making it preferable to steel, which can rust and corrode in extreme environments.
